Xclusivenigeria.com, Nigeria's internet newspaper recently spoke with Ms Heirsmac. Excerpts:

About me

My name is Princess Heirsmac, born on the 6th of July, of Nigerian and Ghanaian parents,  from a family of two raised by a strong woman, with a lovely sister and beautiful nephews and a niece.

I was raised up in a Christian home with mentors such as Dr. Tunde Bakare and Bishop David Oyedepo, I also have come across other strong role models such as Reuben Abati when he was at Guardian  and Mr Omotosho of the Nations newspaper, who were my early supporters when I started a magazine at 15 in 2007 which was then called Curious Magazine. As I developed, I also met persons like Lolu Akinwunmi Chairman Advertisers Council of Nigeria who kept motivating me to chase my dreams and Gordon Willox Financial Controller at Subsea7, Angola.

Early Childhood

I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and I attended Laraday Nursery and Primary school and Dansol High School, which was where I really discovered my potential and launched my magazine along with a few of my friends , which I continued till I reached 300level at Covenant University. Then I decided to pause and think thoroughly about what I wanted.  I am a graduate of Human Resource Management from Covenant University, pursuing a postgraduate degree at Robert Gordon University, Scotland.

I have so many memories from Dansol as those were my discovery stage and that’s where I met a lot of people who have contributed to my life but. My mother has been my number 1 fan and another friend of mine Bimbo Oyewumi has also played significant part in helping me pursue my dream. They are people who know me inside and out, never letting me give up.

About Ela Rose

The ELa Rose collection draws its inspiration from my love for diverse cultures across the world. ELa Rose gets its name ‘ELa’ which means dedicated to her God from the rich West African Culture and ‘Rose’ from the Western Culture, as princess calls it “the best of both western worlds”.  Motivated by the “wrap” which she found present in all cultures from African, to  Asian, to Roman, European, Jewish and even Arabic,  she decided to create a unique blend and mix of this brand embracing the world’s richest cultures. In doing so she´s attempting to combine them in subtle,  feminine and  domineering, fierce masculine  designs which suits everyone’s “seventh sense” of Fashion.

The wrap has been in existence from the days of early man-  who had  wraps such as at the time of Jesus who wore wraps. They are also present in many traditions including  African,, Asian , Indian  and some parts of the western world. The wrap is the uniting bond within these cultures and that is what ELa Rose seeks to achieve.

The collection combines the beauty of delicate Adire, Igbo wraps, Indian laces with luxurious fabrics such as cotton voile, silk and wool, to produce a style both retro and contemporary for bridal wear and occasion outfits

What makes ELa Rose so special is that it offers a line of eco-designed clothing produced according to fair-trade principles: a stylish collection of tops, dresses and tunics, made with certified organic cotton and natural fibres. Exclusively, eco-friendly dyes are used for the Adire and Igbo materials along with the head wraps suitable for many events and offering people the opportunity to try something new and exciting for their occassions

Dream for Ela Rose

My dream for Ela Rose in the forthcoming years is to have it on the lips of every man and woman when looking for that brand that can feature comfort, prestige, class and dynamism for their weddings and other occasions regardless of cultural differences. I  would want the brand to be recognized from generations to generations and as well as to be known for its creativeness and its dynamism.

I love having a good laugh, so yes I love comedy, I love traveling (I draw a lot of inspiration from this). I love to watch sunset, I enjoy watching track and field events, Yoruba movies too; yes I am an Omosexy fan as well, I love kids, I love to read and write, I love to admire artworks especially paintings, I love to eat good food and I love God.

Favorite Designers

Favourite designers? lol mine? Hahaha... to be serious, I love to wear Celine’  and Burberry dresses, Giorgio Armani perfumes and clothes designed by ME!lol

My Favourite accessories have to be Lip gloss, Earrings and Shoes, I always have extra earrings in my bag, some flats, and loads of colored Lip gloss, I think I have about 50 pairs of shoes and 45 of them are heels lol, and a lot of lipgloss;  maybe that’s why I always end up having extra luggage.

Hmmmm I am always wearing heels and funny, I can walk at the same speed with somebody wearing flats, being doing this since I was 8, hahaha.

I should be about 5ft 9inches now, lol, I was always taller than my mates.

Most prized possession

My most prized possession is my BIBLE, it has been there for me in trying and difficult times and I always suggest it to people.

What would you like to change about yourself?

Change about myself- naa nothing. We as humans have to learn to love ourselves and guess what, I love myself and would not change anything, but I would always be involved in continuous development.

Qualities I admire in men and women

Qualities in men shhh, I love men who are kind, determined and can hold their own and a nice smile to complement a sexy scent - in women I love to see confidence, well-kept nails, style.

Hahaha... women always hide their age, so why should I say mine? lol I am 21.

Philosophy in life

My philosophy ever since I was 12, is “Great Dreams come with great challenges, the way you overcome them determine if your dreams come true or not”.

What people do not know about you

One thing people do not know about me is that I am secretly terrified of animals, especially dogs.
